Preparations for leaving

Today Mommy sadly started to tidy up our clothes and stuff for leaving. She will miss Daddy a lot and envies him for having my room, which he can sit in all the time. But Daddy convinced her that she has Waloudeh himself with her and all his clothes, so why should she be envious of him!!

I'm glad to fly to Amman to see the whole family and enjoy my time with them; also I'm looking forward to seeing my first Adidas trainers that my Aunt Rana bought for me. I will put them beside my clothes. You see, I like sports wear - just like my Daddy ;-)

Rio de Janeiro Carnival in Jeddah

This afternoon, we had a small carnival in the compound and all my friends came out to eat the goodies prepared for them by the mommies. There was Jell-O, cream caramel, mortadella sandwiches, hot dogs, marshmallows, pop corn and much more. But I'm a healthy boy and so I only eat fruits and vegetables from my Mommy (as well as some haamleh, which I love like my Dad … yummie). There was also face painting available and the kids had "Spiderman" faces and "Cat" faces and "Dalmation faces". It was so much fun.

And then the big surprise which everyone was waiting for came ….. a big carriage with two horses dragging it (7antoor) . Wow!

As you can see from the photos all the kids were very excited and I kept nagging Mommy from inside her tummy to take me up there for a ride, which she finally agreed to do. We had a good time with the two spider boys next to us but then, after so many children got on it ……... the carriage collapsed from the weight! But thank god I wasn't on it at the time. Haha, what a day.

If it's Friday.. it's Barbeque Day

Today, we were invited by Uncle Hisham and Auntie Rasha "3ala hash ou nash" as they say. The weather was very nice for "hash ou nash", especially by the pool. My friends Koko and Lala were there again, but they played outside most of the time and weren't as loud as usual.

Auntie Rasha is pregnant too and my new friend (her baby) is enjoying his time like me inside his mommy's tummy. The food was great, and I had a good time eating meat and humos and salad. By the way, my doctor says I have put on 800g since last month and I now weigh 1.7 kg and my doctor is happy from me.

Dad brought his argeeleh and joined the rest in "hashing ou nashing" the meat and chicken and kofta.

But I am a little sad today because in exactly one week, mommy and I are going to be leaving Daddy in Jeddah and heading back to Amman, because I am not allowed to fly after the end of May and we have to go now. But at the same time, I will be going to see my grandparents in Amman and will be eating lots of nice, home-cooked food like wara2 3inab (Teta Salma's specialty), sayadiyet samak (Teta Haifa's specialty), and fatet humos (Jido Baha's specialty). As for Jido Walid Senior, he will be joining me for all the meals because his specialty is eating just like me, Walid Junior.

The Corn Market is Up!

Yesterday, Mommy and Daddy went to buy a bed for themselves because they got jealous of my new bed and wanted one of their own.

Actually, they have been looking for a bed for a long time, but hadn't found one which they really liked. But on Thursday, they found one at "Home Plaza" which they thought was nice and since there was a sale on, they decided to buy it.

Unfortunately, the debit and credit machine was not working at the shop and they had already spent ALL their cash (and I mean ALL, expect for 1 Saudi Riyal they had deep in their wallets and one on the floor of the car) on buying my Jaguar S-type carriage, which I told u about yesterday.

So they couldn't buy the bed then and there and in fact they couldn't buy anything because I had already spent all their money on my new carriage ;-).

Even Mom, who was very thirsty and had wanted a fruit cocktail when we first walked into the mall, could not quench her thirst and Dad, who had his eye on some corn cobs which a man was grilling on coal outside the mall could not buy them because the man said they cost SAR 3 for one and SAR 5 for two and they looked like "masakeen" in front of him because they couldn't pay him even that, and the man thought they were so "bukhala" with money.

So today they went back again, carrying cash to pay for the bed and then went to buy the cocktail Mommy wanted and finally went to buy the corn that Dad was dreaming about. But when they came to pay him the SAR 5 for the two corn cobs, the man said "Sorry, its SAR 8 now". When Daddy asked, "How come? They cost SAR 5 only yesterday", the man said "Sorry, the corn market is up today my friend".

So, ladies and gentlemen, I just wanted to let u know, that the corn market is up, and that corn cob prices go up and down from day to day in Jeddah, just like the stock market.

By the way, that cocktail tasted nice, thanks Mom ;-)

Jaguar (S-Type) Carriage

Before leaving Jeddah, Mom and Dad went to buy me a carriage and a car seat so that I can sleep in the car seat when I'm back from Amman to Jeddah inshallah.

There were many styles in the shop, but Mom asked for my opinion and I have chosen the one in the picture. Did you like my choice?

I'm going to use my carriage in the compound; it's going to be my Jaguar for the time being because I'm still young and not able to walk yet.

As for the car seat, I promise to stay inside it without crying since I'm a good boy who follows the rules. And I will always put my seatbelt on because Mom is known for hitting the brakes all the time from her days with her Daihatsu Charade in Amman and I don't want to fly out of the carriage when she hits the carriage brakes with me.

Please comment on what you think of my choice in choosing this carriage. The salesman confirmed to me that it has a 3.5 engine and 600 horsepower motor so watch out for me driving like a mad man in the streets of Jeddah (everybody else drives crazy in Jeddah, so why not me?) ;-)
