The Corn Market is Up!

Yesterday, Mommy and Daddy went to buy a bed for themselves because they got jealous of my new bed and wanted one of their own.

Actually, they have been looking for a bed for a long time, but hadn't found one which they really liked. But on Thursday, they found one at "Home Plaza" which they thought was nice and since there was a sale on, they decided to buy it.

Unfortunately, the debit and credit machine was not working at the shop and they had already spent ALL their cash (and I mean ALL, expect for 1 Saudi Riyal they had deep in their wallets and one on the floor of the car) on buying my Jaguar S-type carriage, which I told u about yesterday.

So they couldn't buy the bed then and there and in fact they couldn't buy anything because I had already spent all their money on my new carriage ;-).

Even Mom, who was very thirsty and had wanted a fruit cocktail when we first walked into the mall, could not quench her thirst and Dad, who had his eye on some corn cobs which a man was grilling on coal outside the mall could not buy them because the man said they cost SAR 3 for one and SAR 5 for two and they looked like "masakeen" in front of him because they couldn't pay him even that, and the man thought they were so "bukhala" with money.

So today they went back again, carrying cash to pay for the bed and then went to buy the cocktail Mommy wanted and finally went to buy the corn that Dad was dreaming about. But when they came to pay him the SAR 5 for the two corn cobs, the man said "Sorry, its SAR 8 now". When Daddy asked, "How come? They cost SAR 5 only yesterday", the man said "Sorry, the corn market is up today my friend".

So, ladies and gentlemen, I just wanted to let u know, that the corn market is up, and that corn cob prices go up and down from day to day in Jeddah, just like the stock market.

By the way, that cocktail tasted nice, thanks Mom ;-)
